This summer my connection to the west-facing dish of the north Noble tower (post oak and 48th) was often > 1 Mbps (download).  Frankly, I was thrilled to finally have the connectivity that I need for my work and family.  To get that, I ended up putting a 16' tower on my roof to get a line of sight for my 900 Mhz connection to the tower, a considerable investment on my part.  But lately things have changed.  A typical example is the past weekend. I get slow service for a few minutes at a time (~300 Kbps), followed by periods of no service that would last for up to 10 minutes.  I was told on Monday that there were some problems with the service, and that techs would be out Tuesday to fix.  Service did improve some yesterday, but I am still only seeing abut 50-70% of the speeds I saw in July and early August.  What bothers me more is that the connection is being dropped every few minutes.  I work for NOAA at the National Weather Center building, and run VPN gateway software on my laptop to gain access to my office machines.  If I dont use the connection for a few minutes (like 2-3, because I am checking on something, or waiting for something to run), I get a dropped connection.  Then trying to reconnect is a painful process - for some unknown reason.

I did NOT have these problems 3 weeks ago.  So what has changed?  This situation is not sustainable for my work needs.

Thanks, and have a nice day.

I am in the Bethel Acres area on Hardesty Rd., just west of Bethel Rd.  There is currently no high speed internet available here so it would be really nice if a new tower could be placed in the area.

This morning we are noticing some slow-downs on the cedar valley tower. Download and upload speed are running about half of what they usually are. I'm on the 1.5 dl / 1.5 ul plan.

Im at work now, but various tests I ran before I left worked great.  The tech you sent is my favorite, he explains things and is fun to talk with.  Im back on the Snow Hill tower, so my profile for Newcastle and Jason White(s) should be purged.

When Ive called in the techs say they cant find my profile.  But hopefully now that he changed some stuff out things will be long lasting.

Just got a call from someone who is coming out.

Problem is, its working great, again.  Inconsistent inconsistency is what I am getting lately.

I am sorry that you are still having issues with our service. I will get with our higher tier techs and see what we can do to get things working as they should.

Now after a few hours, speeds are where they should be, pings are much at the normal levels.  Am I on an oversold tower that just didnt get affected until tonight?

Tech I spoke to said he couldnt find me in the tower.  I was told I was on Jason White South East, he said he couldnt locate my profile.
